Selena walked to the house slowly but confidently. She had just found out who her mother was. She couldn't believe it when she had first found out that her mother was a Greek God, sure she didn't knew exactly who yet. She had to find out before her head exploded from being curious.

Lurking around in the dark of the Blue House was not a strange thing to the young girl. She was playing her game of keep in the shadows and it often lead to the large shadow cast by the house. Besides, it was the first place that she had seen here and it was a familar place. Often, she would stop in her games and just look at the front, where she had waited. Waited for someone to come and explain everything to her. It was like an anchor to the world back home, or almost was. She didn't find all of this world too different. Just a change in challenges, like life in school was.
But there was a change this time. A different girl. Moving forwards, Asteriesla was nervous, but this person looked new, like her. Stepping out of the shadows, her dark eyes flickered over the girl. "Hello, I'm Asteriesla. Are you new here?" She asked, holding her hand out to shake. It was polite, as she had been taught how to be by her Mother. Besides, it was nice to see someone who was new, like she wasn't the only new comer. Not that she minded being here. Learning about the myths... or history, was one of the best things in life. No, it was the best thing.

"Yes, I'm Selena and I'm from France. Where are you from?" Selena asked the girl. She knew a bit mythology and this girl showed signs of Hades. "Are you daughter of Hades?" Selena asked. The language she spoke was also familiar, her accent. This would be when she knew she was so dumb. She had failed most of her classes last year. Hopefully this year would be different. She knew Camp Halfblood was different. Maybe she would fit right in.

Selena, that was a nice name. "Like the moon Titaness?" Asteriesla asked, casually. Knowledge of anything linked to Ancient Greece was something that Asteriesla loved and studied as much as possible, despite only being ten years old. "I'm from England, across the Channel from you. You speak good English. I'm really dreadful at other languages. Unless their dead. Greek is quite easy. I'd say about as easy as English to read." Asteriesla said. Then again, with dyslexia, she really struggled reading English.
Hearing Selena's next words, Asteriesla shrugged. "Not claimed yet. You may get claimed by your Godly parent, or you may not." The young girl shrugged. The thought about trying to figure out her Godly parent had gone through her head, but there wasn't a lot one could use to build up on that. "So, you haven't been claimed, either?" Asteriesla asked. If Selena didn't know about claiming, it was unlikely that it had happened. "Until you are determidn you stay in Hermes' Cabin. He's the God of travellers as well as theives." Asteriesla informed the other girl.
((I believe at some point I am going to have the chance to thread out Asteriesla being claimed, so until then, I will act her as undetermined.))

The redhead walked up to the Blue House, another newbie. Great. Hopefully she'd be as nice as the one she'd greeted the other day. There had been none of the screaming, yelling, denial, blaming or physical violence that she usually had to deal with. Something that was greatly appreciated by the young demigod.
Upon entering the Blue House, she saw that the newbie was already being greated by the one she had introduced around camp the other day. Interesting. But she supposed it was a good thing, she couldn't do all the greetings and tours by herself. She walked up to the two and extended her hand, "Hi, I'm Ginger and welcome to Camp Half-Blood." She stated, a smile on her face, "I'll be your guide today and person that you come to if you have any questions."

"Hi Ginger, my name's Selena." Selena said to the redhead. She seemed so calm, almost like the ocean. "Thanks. I do have one question, I need a weapon. Where do I get one? I also wanted to know if you were daughter of Posideon." Selena said quickly. She had knew that the other girl was probably daughter of Hades, but she didn't point it out to her. She wished she didn't say that, she talked way to much. But otherwise she was a good friend to have around. Then she looked at ginger. She was a redhead probably a little older than her, not by much though.

Ginger laughed, "Was it that obvious?" She asked, interested that Selena had guessed who her godly father was just by looking at her. That could be a pretty good thing to have around camp.
She nodded before pointing towards the arena, "There's a small shed over by the arena that has a whole bunch of weapons that we've had forever. If you don't find something in there though you could probably convince one of the Hephaestus kids to make you something."

"Okay, thanks. Do you know how to get claimed by your godly parent?" Selena asked again. She hoped she wasn't going to scare Ginger away like back in france. She never felt in, that might have been why. She had no French accent, even if she had lived in France all her life. Her dyslexia usually made the kids think she was weird. Here, she wouldn't reveal that she had dyslexia. Hopefully no one would find out either.

Ginger looked as if she was trying to decide what to say. With Asteriesla she had told her without betting around the bush but without just outright saying what happened. Here, she wasn't exactly sure what to say... But best to go with what she had done previously she decided.
"Well, the gods sometimes don't care about us. Or they sometimes get so busy that they don't have time to claim us. Or they just don't feel like getting off their butts and sending the sign." She said, "Some people don't get claimed. Other wait a year or so and they do. Sometimes they get claimed as soon as they arrive here. It all depends on who your goddly parent is." She finished, hoping she hadn't butchered it to much.

(if I'm aphrodite's daughter what do i say?) "Ohh, I thought that we came here and got claimed quickly."Selena said disappointingly. She wished she could have a mother who would claim her quickly, she needed to live in her mother's cabin! But she knew she would have to wait like everyone else. She wondered if Ginger got claimed quickly.

She shook her head, "Some people do, I was claimed in about a month. But most children of the big three are. It helps the camp director understand why we draw more monsters" She explained. Hopefully Selena would be claimed quickly, the Hermes cabin was close to bursting as it was!
(You can make a thread where your claimed if you'd like)

Asteriesla smiled when she saw Ginger and let the older girl deal with it. Although she loved myths and talking about them, she did not know the camp too well. And she was thinking about what Selene had said. Asteriesla knew that with her dark hair and dark eyes that it would seem like a probability. But there were other Gods of the Underworld and though she was not adverse to finding out who her Godly parent was, or adverse to it if it were the Unseen One, she did not want to get her hopes up that she did know who her Godly parent was.
It was suprising, though, that Selene figured out Ginger's godly parent so quickly, and Asteriesla wondered if she were a daughter of Apollo, or gifted by prophecy like the Oracle. Being quite for a while, Asteriesla looked up and gavve a smile as it moved onto claiming. "If you're not claimed, I can show you to the Hermes' Cabin and we can be next to each other. its usually incredibly friendly and lively." Asteriesla said. Well, Hermes' children were. The unclaimed children weren't so much. Especially older ones. That made her feel sad. And telling stories didn't help either.

Selena looked at Asteriesla and smiled. She had such a like-able personality. She hoped that Asteriesla would get claimed soon. "Thank you. I bet the Hermes cabin should be lively and friendly. Do you know how many people there are?" Selena asked. She was really curious about the Camp, she didn't know much about Greek Myths, but all of the names just came to her.

Ginger shrugged, "In total at this point in time? Maybe 10 campers. But attendence is down because its Spring." She said. They usually had about 50 or 60 campers in total, but with all the disappearances and all the people that weren't year rounders, attendence was low. But that was nothing to worry about, it was always something that happened around this time of year. Attendence would hopefully zoom back up by the beginning of summer.

As Selene spoke, Asteriesla smiled. "Loads, some are children of Hermes', other's unclaimed. So they get quite a big bunch. They like playing tricks on each other at times, or the Hermes children do, but everyone's good and friendly. If you want, I can even tell you one of the old stories!" She said, cheerfully. "Although the unclaimed ones don't like those stories so much... some do, and the Hermes' children seem to enjoy them. Like like the ones about their father. But I know a few." She said.
Yes, they did have not as many as usual, but the Hermes cabin did seem very full to someone used to having her own room. But she was lucky not to have anything stolen yet. She had heard from others that they didn't manage to keep things to themselves for long. "Its all great fun." Asteriesla said.
