After travelling miles and miles one would expect the destiny to be within easy reach. However, that was often not the case. As was the case now. He'd arrived at the place he'd been striving to reach and now there was a massive dragon blocking his way and not looking to happy. The teenager sighed as he regarded the dragon. Was this a challenge to reach the camp? He'd never had to fight a dragon before and to be honest, he new very little about them. They breathed fire was about as far as his knowledge went. He'd expect them to be less active or sleeping at night, due to being lizards, and thus cold blooded. Unfortunately, that did not appear to be the case here.
The boy was dressed in a loose white shirt, that was grimy from his journey. A long, heavy trench coat that was way too big for the boy hung on his shoulders and he wore plain black trousers. He had light blue eyes that seemed wide awake, despite the time of night. His black hair contrasted greately with his pale skin. It did appear as if the boy had not eaten in several days, or possibly even weeks, which was more or less the truth. Scott had to survive on the streets after he had left home, his father calling him a freak. It wasn't Scott's fault that all crimes seemed to be so obvious to him. They were so easy to solve.
While living on the streets, an old woman had told him that he needed to go to the Americas, and seek out this camp. She had given him a necklase, with the symbol )O( on it. Scott kept it on him at all times, under his shirt. It was only later that he had figured how who the old woman was. It was Hecate, the triple goddess. Hecate was partly the Goddess of Crime Scenes. It had taken ages for him to reach the docks, and then to stow away. When he had been found out, he had worked to earn his journey. However, he barely earned enough on the side to pay for food. That didn't bother him. Arriving in America had lead to just one other problem. Finding the camp.
It had been during his journey through America that he had met another demigod. John. It was unlike Scott to pair up with anyone, but Scott knew that this was important and it was actually the first time he had made a friend. So the young English boy had allowed the American to travel with him. True the journey had not been easy, and there had been several monsters along the way. Scott was not too brilliant at magic, which was one of the things that was under his mother's domain. Not too good didn't really cover it. So far, he'd not been able to do much but see things that were usually hidden to others when crime was involved. The necklace had been more useful. As it turned out, the removable pendant was a sword.
So the two had been travelling together, searching for this mysterous Camp Half-Blood that Scott had been told about. Having a knowledge of what plants were edible helped Scott out, but most of the food he found, he gave to John. The boy could go without food for a while, but he doubted that his new friend was as durable. Still, it was nice to have someone to share the journey with, even if Scott didn't admit that he viewed John as a friend. Having never had a friend before, he didn't exactly know what qualified as a friend and didn't want to loose his freedom of being friendless. nether the less, in his own mind, John was a friend.
As the dragon started to rise, Scott decided that it was probably best to go back a few steps, and talk to John about the situation. Scott had scouted ahead, ready to take on any stray monsters, with John making sure that nothing came up from behind them, or that nothing was following them. Glancing back at the dragon, Scott was glad to see that it wasn't following him. That certainly was a big relief. Even better was the fact that it hadn't decided to set the hill alight. But this was the place. The camp was just beyond that tree, behind the hill. He was sure of it. "There's a dragon guarding the hill. It didn't attack me, but it looked like it might like to. Not sure if its friendly, or looking for some food. It might be a test." Scott whispered to John, fingering the pendant.

(Sooo, gonna post here! I'll delete if you wanted it to stay between you two ^.^)
A redheaded girl dropped down from the pine tree and looked over the two new people that were currently trying to get pas Peleus. She had a bit of a wild look about her, there were pine needles in her hair and her face, legs, arms and hands were smeared with the trees thick sap. Smirking slightly, she strode over to the dragon and patted him on the head before whispering something in the dragons ear. Peleus didn't exactly look to happy about it, but he relented and sat down near the base of the tree. The girl then turned towards the guests and smiled.
"Sorry bout that. Peleus usually doesn't get so agitated around Half-Bloods, which is what I'm assuming you are since you just passed the barrier." She stated, walking towards them. She wore simple clothes, an old Camp Half-Blood t-shirt that had been turned into a v-necked tank top and cut off jean shorts, no shoes as usual. "I'm Ginger," She stated, holding out her hand for a few second before deciding better of it, "I would shake your hand but I don't believe you'd like getting sap all over yourselves." She added.
She cocked her head to one side and studied the first boy. He was about her age at a guess, or at least close to 15 and he wore a strange overcoat that was far to big with a dirty white t-shirt and regular black slacks. Interesting. Both the shirt and slacks were of a good quality even if they were dirty, and the overcoat looked to be well used but also well kept. They didn't usually get that many people whose clothes weren't in ruins by the time they got to camp. That was definitely one thing that interested Ginger, another was who the other boy was. She couldn't see much at the moment because for one thing, he was mostly hidden in the shadows and for another, he was mostly unseeable considering the first boy was standing in front of him. Interesting She thought Hope they get claimed soon, Hermes Cabin is still overflowing...

Scott was used to many things, having a Goddess of magic for a mother and being able to understand things behind people and crimes. Still, having a strange girl dropping down was suprising to the teenager. His cold blue eyes scanned over her. Ginger hair, green eyes. She had to be a demigod. She was 16 years old. Dressed casually, but with sap and pine. Evidentally she enjoyed spending time in the trees. So, possible nature god or goddess for a parent. But Scott knew that one couldn't just judge by apperance.
Listening to her words, it was obvious that she was a halfblood. "Yes, we are half bloods." Scott said, moving himself slightly so that he was between Ginger and John. After surviving on the streets and across the ocean, he was used to having to be ready to fight. And he felt protective of John. It was the only person he viewed as a friend. Despite aparently being unable to have feelings, he did have them within him. His long, boney fingers fiddled with his necklace, ready to activate it incase he needed to fight.
The girl introduced herself and Scott was about to shake her hand, despite the sap, when she dropped it, explaining the actions to be to do with her hand being dirty. "It was really no problem. I'm Scott. Scott Howard. This is John." Scott said, only moving slightly as he introduced John. The black haired teenager continued to look at Ginger, trying to figure anything else he could figure out about her. Not like most other girls, so it was quite possible that she had been here for a while, not within the cliche that other girls built up, outside the world that Scott was in.
Watching Ginger, Scott paused, wondering whether he should divulge who his Godly mother was. Ginger hadn't, but Scott was not aware of what was needed to be accepted into this camp. "Hecate sent me here from England. I found John while travelling through America. We are both sons of Hecate. Different mortal parents." He said. He was grateful to the guidance that Hecate had provided to let him get here. It had not been easy, but without her help, it would be certain that he would have taken the wrong cross roads.

She nodded, "I thought as much, Peleus probably would have eaten you if you were mortals." She stated, quirking her thumb back at the dragon as though it was normal for him to eat people. Of course, for her it was normal. Other's might have thoguht it was strange to have a dragon as a pet, but to Ginger, that's what Peleus was. After all, she had fed him, cleaned his scales and taken him on walks all throughout her life. But that was her, she had lived at camp for as long as she could remember and wasn't scared by the dragon. Most of the other campers were.
"Hecate, huh?" She said, "Guess we'll bunk you guys with the Hermes Cabin since were still finishing the minor gods and goddesses cabins. Their almost done. Kinda..." Truth be told, the cabins were still in a pretty primitive form. The Camp had just got the shipment of magic stone they were to use to build Hecates cabin and the pillow floor and wall had yet to arrive for Morpheus' cabin. It was slow going but once they were done they'd be pretty awesome. Now all she had to do was make sure she informed the Hephaestus Cabin that Hecate's Cabin was taking priority since they actually had people that needed to live in it.
Ginger leaned over to one side and waved at John, "Hi, don't think we've been properly introduced." She said, walking over behind Scott to stand inbetween the two, "Once again, I'm Ginger, daughter of Poseidon, welcome to camp and congrats on not getting eaten or masacered on the way here." She smiled brightly before turning around and shaking Scott's hand. Well if it was no problem about the sap to him, it was no problem to her.

Scott's icey gaze flickered towards the dragon once more as Ginger said that the dragon ate mortals. Scott had been pretty sure that the dragon itself would have eaten him if he tried to approach. "I've never met any dragons before. Are they common?" He asked, wondering if this was another kind of monster he may need to face in his life time. The more he knew about something, the better. Preperation helped one survive, which was something you needed to know if you had been on the streets since the age of eight. Was it luck that he had not had to face any dragons on the way to this camp? Scott didn't believe in luck. "Not as common as other monsters, right?" He asked. It was a logical conclusion.
Hearing the next words, Scott shrugged. "I'm fine with sleeping out, if it would be too much of a problem for me to stay in the Hermes Cabin. I haven't stayed in a house since I was eight. Hermes is the messenger god, right? And god of theives?" The teenager was not very well up on his gods. He'd been researching on his journey, but only ones he thought may be of importance to him. Of course, Scott couldn't speak for John, but they had both had to sleep wild while coming here. Pulling his coat around him, the son of Hecate finally let his hand stray from his necklace, the weapon.
As Ginger moved to stand between him and John, Scott moved slightly, still ready in case Ginger decided not to be so nice. So far, her tone of voice did imply that she was telling the truth and was friend, not foe. "Poseidon..." Scott frowned. Mostly, he'd looked up which were gods of which. Thievery was an important thing, so he had found out about Hermes. Wisdom had lead him to find out about Athena and he also knew about Artemis and Selene, who completed the Maiden, the mother and The Crone, the Triple Goddesses who made up the )O(. Triples were also important as far as things went.
On the congratulations, Scott shrugged. "We're lucky enough to have had guidance. Its probably a good thing that the dragon, Peleus, didn't attack, or that you were here. Seeing as he's your... guard, it would not be very good if we had to hurt him." Scott said, not sure how useful his sword would be, or his knowledge of fighting. Still, from his experience it was best to show confidence otherwise everyone would pick on you. Believing in oneself allowed you to keep some threats at bay.

"Hi." John said softly, he had tried to hide behind Scott, he was never the talky type. He waved and started to listen to their conversation. His brother was talking to a girl who could just end up killing them. But most redheads were friendly. Though he would never be the girl's friend. He knew Scott would be the only person to trust. After hearing that Scott said that he would prefer to stay outside, he shuddered. He would never stay outside, he never really enjoyed being outside, and he wouldn't be outside where people all around them could kill them. These people are nice! Try to be nice a bit! He thought to himself. All they were trying to do was be nice.
"Umm, Scott, I think we should stay inside the cabin, I uhh..... Well, I'm scared!" John said to his brother. Hopefully Ginger would think so too, and he hoped he didn't sound rude. His father always told him to be nice. But he couldn't trust his father anymore. "Sorry if i was rude." John muttered. He would leave Scott to the talking.

Scott's blue eyes flickered back to John as his friend and half brother spoke softly. After journeying through America to find him, Scott knew that John was not the most talky of characters. Neither was Scott at times. He usually only spoke when it was necessary or when he could show off. The latter wasn't that common unless he did happen to be at a crime scene. Which had been the reason why his father had called him a freak before throwing Scott out of the house. Having never reutnred, Scott did not know whether his father had changed his mind, but he doubted it.
It was then that John decided to speak up about his opinions of staying outside. Scott paused, listening, his blue eyes on John. The teenager looked thoughtful, wondering about the implications of staying inside and what problems could arise from staying outside. But John had said that he was scared. Scott wouldn't let his friend be alone in a cabin, or scared outside with him. "Okay, we will stay in the Hermes Cabin. If you need any help making the Hecate Cabin, I do not have any skills with building, but I can see what I can do." He said, the first bit to John, the second to Ginger.
As John appologised, Scott gave a little friendly shake of his head. "Don't worry, John, you weren't rude." Scott said softly to his half-brother. It truely was the only person that he viewed as a friend. It had taken quite a lot of change to get used to having another person to travel with, after years of working alone. But it had been pleassant to find that he actually had found a friend from his adaptions to travelling with someone else.

(mind if I jump in?) "The Hecate cabin. I'll add that to my list of things to do." Caly said, walking out of the shadows. "Welcome to Camp Halfblood. I'm Caly, the camp director. Sons of Hecate, huh? We don't get many of those. Partly why the cabin isn't done yet. I've had other matters to deal with. But I'll see it gets done as soon as possible." She thought a moment.
"The Hermes cabin is pretty full. You're welcome to stay at the Blue House for a few days if you'd prefer. I'll round up some of my best builders, and we should have the cabin finished by the end of the week. You two are our first, so there hasn't been much need to get it finished yet." She said, giving them both a bright smile. She tried to make each new demigod feel welcome, knowing the newer ones sometimes had a hard time getting used to things.
John was on the quiet side, and she had heard him apologize. "Trust me John, you're not the only demigod to pass through these borders that hasn't been scared out of their mind. I was plenty freaked out by the whole thing. Most are."
(if you want it to stay just between you 3, tell me, and I'll delete this)

((No, its fine for you to join. It is open!))
The sound of a new approach startled Scott and he immediatley and instinctively undid the pendant on his )O( necklace and it grew into a sword, the 'O' providing the handle. Holding the sword out towards the voice, he lowered it slightly as the speaker continued, his icey blue eyes scanning over the newcommer. She didn't appear hostile and she had come within camp limits, so demigod. Returning the sword to his necklace aas a pendant, he tucked it under his white short. "Sorry for my rash reaction." He appologised, his eyes still scanning over to her and Ginger. But it seemed like she would be safe. Still, Scott remained ready, positioned slightly between the girl who had introduced herself as Caly and John.
The offer to stay at the Blue House was probably better. The less people the better. "I think it will be better if we stay out the Blue House. I do not wish to overcrowd an area." Scott said, briefly turning to look at John to see if his half brother agreed with Scott's opinion. Having their own place at the end of the week would be interesting. Scott had never had his own place having lived out on the streets for nearly a decade and not really viewing his father's house as his own. And living inside would take some adapting too.

She smiled, and seemed unfazed by Scott pulling out the sword. "It's fine. With what you guys have been through, I don't blame you for pulling it out." She glanced back over at Ginger and John for a moment. Scott seemed to be placing himself between her and John, but it didn't bother her. After all, she had just appeared out of the shadows, and by the sound of it, they had been through quite a lot in the past months.
"Yeah, and the Hermes cabin wouldn't be very comfortable since you'd probably get a bed on the floor. And they've been known to play tricks on new campers. But that's the Hermes kids, always up to something else. I swear, I can't turn my back on them for 5 minutes. There should be a room ready, so you can move right in, and get settled in."

Ginger nodded happily, "Yup! And it's definitely not a good idea to be out of bed after hours." She stated firmly, "The harpies come out after dark."
True. But to most demigods harpies weren't that big a problem. You just pulled out a sword or dagger and stabbed them or poked them with it and they were gone. Not that bug a problem. Although Caly never had been big on Ginger's vaporizing numerous amounts of the cleaning staff...
Oh well! I never did listen to that rule.. But it is only fair to warn them. She thought, convieniently forgetting to mention that the harpies enjoyed snacking on campers that were out at night. Oh well! They'd figure it out eventually, not that she thought they were the type to go outside after hours.

Caly did not seem shocked by Scott's reaction with the sword and from the tone of her voice, the detective guessed that it was something that happened more frequently that one would consider. The children of Hermes did sound interesting. Playing tricks, father being a god of theivery, if Scott remembered correctly. Maybe he would have a few... cases, for lack of a better word, if things went horribly wrong with a prank. "They sound... interesting. If you ever have a problem with a prank gone wrong, trying to find who caused it, I'd be pleased to help." Scott said, although his abilities at crime scenes had been what had caused his father to call him a freak and throw him out. Could it happen here?
Harpies. What were those? "Harpies? And they are?" Scott asked, to him, not much of this had been important to know. A monster came up, you stabbed it. That was pretty much life. And from the sound of it, these harpies were monsters, or dangerous. So stabbing would be the usual treatment. "They are monsters." he said after some thought. That was obvious, but it would probably be best to know more about them if they were common after dark. Were they like foxes and owls?

"Yes, they do. But that's never been a problem for you, has it Ginger?" She said giving her a teasing smile. "And I just may do that Scott. I have way too many cases of them being stupid, and doing some dumb trick. And it's not like any of them would confess. So be careful offering. You may just get tons of cases! I swear, they're experts at covering their tracks."
"Yes, harpies are monsters. They have a taste for demigods, so going out after dark is not advised. Though if it happens, they're not ones for fighting, so a run through with a sword will take care of them. Just don't make a habit of it. I kinda like to have my cleaning staff around, right Ginger?" She gave her a smile, and laughed. "You know I'm just teasing."

Hearing that he might have some interesting cases from the action of Hermes' children, Scott gave a smile, it was brief, and fadded as quickly. But cases were good. Often it seemed to give him energy. "Don't worry, I'll be fine with having tons of cases. Hecate is the Goddess of Crime Scenes. I... seem to be able to figure out these sort of things quite easily." Scott commented, not sure whether this ability was also partly influenced by him. After all, from his knowledge, most children of Hecate were magic based, which was the wider part of the domain. And experts at hidding tracks just sounded even better. Often it took him only minutes to get down to a few ideas. Maybe this would present a challenge.
Harpies. Monsters. Cleaning staff. Putting this information away in his head, Scott nodded. "I'll only kill the harpies if they attack first." He commented, not sure how often he would be outside in the dark. He generally didn't like being inside. He hadn't lived inside for nearly a decade. Even on the ship he had mostly slept outside, apart from when they had gone through a violent storm. If he had slept outside then, he would have been swept off.

"Ah, she is, isn't she. I'm liking you more and more. Maybe with you around, I won't have so many messes to clean up. I know they're going to do tricks every now and then, but gods, lately, they've been crazy. But anyway. I shouldn't get started on them." She didn't mind the Hermes kids, but she had better things to do than clean up the mess, track down the crook, and console whoever had been affected.
"I appreciate that. And I suppose most go out after dark everyone once in a while. I mean, you've gotta have your midnight swims on hot summer nights on occasion. Even I've done it." She eyed them both. "Just don't let the particular tidbit of information get around camp, or I'll have to personally kill both of you. If everyone finds out I break my own rules, they'll never listen to me." She smiled a little so they knew she was just teasing. But still. Everyone couldn't know she broke her own rules, or she'd have a chaos in an instant.
