By the way his eyes reflected his emotions, Holly saw that he was trying to force back his anger. Hah, he had more control than she did. She supposedly he did deserve an answer for trying to deal with his problems. Who knows what would have happened if he hadn’t been able to and snapped at her again? For her, it would have all been through a red haze. “Holly.”
“Don’t remind me.” Holly did her best not to let a groan slip out, but the thought of being stuck with him possibly for the rest of her miserable life was too much to bear. They would have to sit together at lunch, be on the same team on capture the flag… And it wasn’t really an option for them to be allies, was it? Except for whoever hears them arguing, everybody would automatically assume so, since they shared the same cabin. She couldn’t imagine herself pairing up with…with this… bad-tempered cocky aggressive boy. Hypocrite much?
“Shut up, the two of you!” Holly whirled around at that, her glare landing on Lamia, returning her gaze. She’d met a lot of different people, and had talked with Lamia before, and easily detected the tone behind her words. “If you don’t care, don’t say anything,” Holly muttered. Once again, she didn’t want to pick a fight in the middle of the night.
She stared at Lamia, and when she gave no intention of moving, Holly snarled, “Do you mind? This is a private family conversation!” Well, it wasn’t really, and she wasn’t going to admit it, but she felt a bit uncomfortable with Lamia sitting there. She was part snake, right?

Scott's temper flared. "Trying to have a conversation here!" He growled. His usually brown eyes turned to a fiery orange. That usually happened when someone got on his nerves. His eyes flared some more, revealing not a warm cozy fire, but a burning fire filled with the most painful deaths. Scott tried to settle it down, but it was getting too much. The flare turned a bright fiery red that revealed pure hell. Scott finally managed to get his eyes under control, and now they turned an icy blue.

Lamia watched the two of them with her poisonous green eyes. Suddenly, she let a smile leak. It wasn't sweet, it was dripping with venom as was her voice. Her tone was sickly sweet, showing fake emotion, "Oh, I'm so sorry child, did you say you were trying to have a conversation? For all I know, conversations are pleasant...and you family bonding time seems to...be a disadvantage. Keep in mind that I head the infirmary, so you might be in my hands one day."
She said nothing more, the message was clear. The snake daemon wasn't someone you messed around with. She had a centuries of experience to prove that. Though her temper had never improved over the years. "Besides, I'm here under Agrius' orders. "Can you guys make sure Holly doesn't lose her temper?" was his request." Lamia made her voice all soft and patient to mock the bear daemon's voice. Seriously, the battle director had too much work to do to take care of his own business. "You should be glad Lycaeus kept silent when he was tracing you."

Holly momentarily blinked at Scott in somewhat of thanks, even if his support hadn't been necessarily intended, then turned her gaze back on Lamia. Her annoyance rose higher with every word the snake daemon contributed so helpfully, and she had to admit to herself, Lamia possibly in control of her life one day was a terrifying thought. Her temper shot up at the next sentence.
"He what?"
A layer of fury now covered all the respect she'd once grudgingly had for Agrius. She ran her own life! Why did he care? Now Lamia and Lycaeus were being sent out working for him like spies!
"I didn't ask for anyone to stalk me!" she spat. You could almost see irritation radiating off of Holly's skin, severely ticked off. "And even if that was his request, being here with your helpful little words isn't helping at all!"

"A stalker?" Scott's voice rose. Holly and him might not get along well, but he'd might as well try to get along with her. "I think we all can watch ourselves. Its not like she's helpless!" His eyes had turned a fiery red again, showing things that no man or woman should see. The fire would not die down, and his temper flared. "We're children of Hades! Its not like we can't control ourselves! Now leave us alone!" Scott shouted. "We too, have lives, and its not like we are stupid!"

Lamia had to smile, but she took no words, just continued on calmly with her falsely sweet voice. "Oops, little girl is mad. Lycaeus was right, I guess. Can't even tell a joke without you blowing your top. Your sibling seems to have the same issue. Now Agrius has two little fledglings to take care of. I always wondered why he accepted being a teacher."
The snake daemon nonchalantly checked her nails like she had all the time in the world. Of course she had been over exaggerating. Agrius had just told the two to stop her from killing any campers if she lost her temper, not guard her like a hawk. Really, Lcaeus had come up with the stalk-Holly game. The immature daemon loved playing games. Lamia just partook for the satisfication of beating him. "Oh, yes, you're doing a fine job of controlling yourself now, young man. Are you seeing red? Tell me, hmm?"

(So lazy, sorry)
She didn't have an indigenous retort for 'little girl'. Holly usually would have snapped back, 'Look who's talking,' or something along the lines of that, but didn't even want to think about Lamia's age. Like many other creatures, the snake daemon looked about in her teens, but for all Holly knew, she could have lived ten of her lifetimes. It was a bit unnatural and unnerving, like an old soul stuffed in a 16-year-old's body.
"Shut up!" was the best response she could think of on a second's notice at the moment with her furious thoughts, sadly. "Aren't you angering us on purpose? You really have a skill for that, you know." Holly struggled not to add a curse to the end of her sentence. If she exploded, it would be just what Lamia wants, she figured. Calm down, calm down, calm down... her hand clenched tight with the effort, knuckles white. Her stiff fists repeatedly opened and closed, imagining she was wringing Lamia's neck. Ah, that was better.

Lamia put on such a fake expression of thoughtfulness, it was irritating. "Lycaeus can rub off some times." She shrugged, her green eyes glinting distastefully among the two Hades children. "It's odd that Hades has been busy. Are you trying to overpopulate the camp with your bad temper?" She was smirking now, eyeing the struggling Holly. "If Agrius really did tell us to stalk you, I wouldn't have revealed myself. Besides, your life seems bland, why would I want to know its mechanics? This is my sleeping space, darling. You two actually woke me up. That's why I'm here."

"You shouldn't have woken up in the first place." Scott growled. "If you stayed silent, maybe you wouldn't be close to death right now." The son of Hades had his teeth clenched together, his muscles tight and his fists balled. His eyes flared hard, casting redness. He looked strait at Lamia, his eyes redder and redder. It was filled with stuff that no living thing should see, stuff that could make a person go insane at one glance, something so powerful that it could kill someone, just by looking at his eyes.

Holly glanced sideways at Scott, actually sort of worried. It seemed like her half-brother had a worse temper than she did. She knew she could kind of control herself, but Scott...she hoped he wasn't oblivious to his own issues. "Scott, I think that's enough," she called as casually and lightly as she could, despite the burning anger still directed towards Lamia. "That's a bit unfair." She didn't expect him to listen if she was fuming on the outside herself. Had to set a good example, right?
Now that Holly thought over what she'd just said, she wondered if she'd have the opposite effect, infuriating Scott even more.

Scott looked at Holly, then backed off. "I guess your right." He growled, still glaring at Lamia. He stood up tall, let his muscles loosen, then shoved his hands into his pockets. His flaring eyes died down, but became an icy blue. Scott realized that he might have a worse temper than Holly did. Well, that was bad. He might even evaporate someone without knowing it. Whoa. Better calm it down, there. That would be bad if he got mad at one of the gods and tried to kill them. That was the problem. A god is immortal. Once ticked off, you were probably dead. 'What a way to impress Hades.' Scott thought glumly as he glared up at Lamia.

Lamia shot her own deadly gaze down at Scott. She hissed at him, her fangs setting in place. She wasn't someone you got angry. "You could try killing me, sweetheart, but I doubt you'll even pull out your weapon before you're full of daggers. You know not who you challenge." She was more tolerant than them, too, and she settled down against the trunk.
"Life if unfair, my sweet. Why don't you ask Agrius? He's been spited by demigods ever since the rise of ancient Greece, and what is he doing now? Helping you. Ugh, I wonder why he bothers." The snake daemon sniffed with dissatisfication. "And now Lycaeus is going to die, you expect me to be all sunshine and flowers?"

"Wait, what?" Holly's anger dissolved in an instant. She didn't care too much for the annoyingly bright daemon, but he was one of the few who'd actually attempted to converse with her...so yeah, she did kind of care. If he was going to die.... Holly suddenly felt as though her outrage at such little things had been totally petty and childish when Lamia could have been tending to Lycaeus instead of arguing with them.
Sure, the wolf daemon’s happy nature’d bothered her numerous times in the past, but she didn’t want him to die…yet, anyways. “Why’s Lycaeus dying? What’s wrong with him?” Instead of wishing Lamia would shut up, now Holly was quite confused and wanted her to talk.

"You heard me." Lamia snarled, the heat in her voice wavering as she leaned against the branch and closed her eyes. "He'll die. Some illness I've never seen before..." She was the snake daemon of medicine in the form of herbs. Everything had a cure. She had been blessed by Apollo in that form, and his knowledge said nothing about it. If he couldn't help...who could? Her friend was in constant pain, and he couldn't speak without coughing up blood.
She had been trying to figure it out for days now, and this was the first rest she had gotten in forever. Lamia was in a rotten mood for a reason. She was here first, after all. "If you want to know more, see for yourself. I think Agrius should be with him now. I don't feel like explaining it." She shifted so her back was to the two demigods, a spark of frustration lighting in her green eyes.
