Fascination ~open~

[Mina]

Mina was easily distracted, so when Lycaeus told her to go entertain herself and that he had work, she had obliged. It was okay, anyway. The little girl put exploring at the top of her list of things to do if she got bored. When she heard there was a lake, there was no puase for it to be her next destination.

Mina skipped happily through the fields. She looked almost six with bright orange hair bouncing around as she traveled. Her merry lavender eyes were glittering with anticipation. "Going to see the lake!" She hummed jubilantly as she passed some confused campers. She was the newest addition after all. She stopped at the shore of the lake and sighed. "Wow! It's pretty!" She bent down and traced a finger in the water, still humming.

[Holly]

Holly kept her head down, hands stuffed in her pockets, walking around aimlessly. She honestly didn't know where to go anymore. She'd done everything she'd wanted already. She'd never listened to much of the camp authorities, wandering where she pleased whenever she wanted. They never bothered to tell her otherwise, so she'd assumed it was okay. Now, camp was dull and meaningless. It didn't seem right to attend some of the classes now since she'd straight-out ignored them for so long.

As an unfamiliar bright voice rang into the air did she bothered to lift her head. There was a little girl crouching at the shore of the lake, singing to herself or something. Normally, Holly would just continue her own way to wherever she felt like going, but since she'd already been everywhere, the daughter of Hades shifted course and headed towards the girl. "Are you new?" She'd certainly never seen Mina around before. Holly was sure she would have remembered that fiery hair.

[Mina]

"It's really cold." Mina commented still stirring her finger through the water aimlessly.
"I could care less." Janice replied inside her head. The little girl ignored her. She looked up at the sound of footsteps, face lighting up.
"Someone's coming!"
"Thank you for pointing it out, Captain Obvious." Janice nearly snarled.

Mina hopped to her feet and skipped up, seeing that it wasn't someone she knew. She grinned up at her with a bright sunny smile. Her lavender eyes glimmered jubilantly and her short tangerine colored hair bounced. "Mina isn't new. Mina came here before." She wrinkled her nose in an effort to remember. "Mina was here ten years ago! Now Mina is back!" She smiled up at the daughter of Hades innocently. "What is big sister's name?"

[Holly]

The first and obvious thing that struck Holly was Mina's use of third-person towards herself, but didn't comment on that. Since her OCD started acting up, she had a violent urge to correct the little girl, but kept her mouth shut. Holly wasn't sure if the information would just slide right off, or if Mina would listen, so there was no point. As far as Holly knew, kids only heard what they wanted to hear.

Big sister...? It took a moment for her to fully register the fact that Mina had just called her big sister. What the...? Bullies; she could curse right back into their faces. Adults; she would straight-out ignore them. Holly'd never picked up on how to react to kids, for there'd hardly seemed to be any reason. With kids, the daughter of Hades was just plain awkward.
And ten years ago, was that possible? The girl barely looked seven. Something about the girl seemed off. Perhaps Mina came from the same place the daemons had?

"I'm Holly," she murmured, not sure what else to tell Mina, though there were plenty of questions she wanted to ask.

[Mina]

Mina giggled, doing a perfectly graceful cartwheel that could definitely come in handy in battle. The little girl grinned, "Big sister Holly! Nice to meet you!" Her fluorescent orange hair bounced up and down as she nodded hyper-actively like her neck was going to break off.

"Mina usually plays with big brother Lycaeus, but he got sick." She put on a pouty face with wide lavender eyes. "Mina misses him, but big sister Lamia said he should get better, just a cough." The snake daemon had been lying to her, of course, but she hadn't noticed.

[Holly]

"Nice to meet you too," Holly murmured, not knowing what else to say anymore. She could hear how awkward she sounded compared to the bright girl, and nearly cringed at the sound of her own voice. Glancing back at Mina, she wondered if she should suggest Mina stop nodding so violently in enthusiasm.

"Just a cough," she hollowly repeated Mina's words before she could stop herself. Hopefully Mina would think Holly had spoken out of agreement. Holly recalled what Lamia had said a few nights ago, that Lycaeus was dying. Well, she certainly wasn't going to tell Mina the truth.

[Mina]

Mina jumped up and down in excitement, glad that the girl had replied. If she had noticed Holly's discomfort, she didn't show it. She was bouncing around like that squirrel on a coffee high from the movie Hoodwinked.

"Just a little cough." Mina echoed, the sentence going for a third time. "Lamia says he will be okay. Big sister Lamia is the best at medicine. Whenever Mina had a booboo, she would fix it. And she has Apollo kids to help her." Her voice was still cheerful and positive, unaware of the situation. Actually, as the first victim, Lycaeus had started faster and crashed quickly. He was naturally the worst case. But the plague was looming over the camp, and the rumors said it was lethal. Campers would die of this unknown sickness.

"Wanna go swimming?" Mina asked Holly with a grin.
