Hades didn't realize that he had pretty much set up the negotiation for her. The negotition had also turned out extremely one-sided, which made his headache worsen. Looked like he couldn't really get out of this one. Whatever, he could just give this one to her. He had to give her props for playing the fox in this.
"Alright, alright. I'll help you with whatever." The god tried not to growl. "And Athena dropped by earlier." He tried to change course of the subject and tell her of his earlier recieval of the goddess's iris message. He had to admit that he was glad now that she had stpped by to chat. He has something to steer Persephone's attention from. "She invited you on a...trip, I think."

The smirk that covered the goddess' face was one very similar to that of a Cheshire cat, content and full of pride. After all, she had managed to convince Hades, of all people, to help her with the renovations to her garden. With his help she would be able to finish it even quicker! And she could add on a few more designs and updates! It would be simply wonderful.
"Good! Now, first we have to get you some gardening gloves, oh! And we have to Iris Medusa and get her to send us some more of those divine statues of hers! We mustn't forget about the plants either! I was thinking a brown, red and white theme for this year, but then again-" And on and on she went, illustrating her words with her hands and arms a smile on her face and stars in her eyes. She loved having this power. But of course, she was dragged out of her revere when Hades told her about Athena's visit.
"Oh? And where might she be thinking of taking me?" Persephone's smile turned into a slightly sour look, that which she took on when she didn't particularly feel like doing something that she knew she had to. A trip with Athena was just that. A bothersome thing that got in the way of redoing her garden! But of course Demeter would make sure her daughter went on this trip. How had she put it the last time? Oh yes, she had to go to 'keep peace and family bonds together.' What rot. Family bonds and peace? Since when had the gods ever had that? She certainly couldn't remember... She'd just have to hope that it was some place fun this time and not a stuffy old museum or historical monument...

As Persephone began to ramble, his headache got worse. That sly grin of hers only served to make him wary. It was obvious that the goddess enjoyed having control over him. He was not going to let her get used to it, hopefully. Offering help to her was not one of the smarter things he had done. The god frowned. He shook his head for a moment, trying to get his wife to slow down at least and give him a break. Hades didn't really want gardening gloves. Any plant that he touch would wilt and turn black anyway in his foul moods. He would have to exercise his self control from now on, that was for sure.
Taking a dive at her offer of changing the subject, he pushed their previous troublesome conversation to the side like it was nothing of great importance.he would at least get a break from her for a few days before she returned and he would have to help her with the gardening and whatnot. "Well, what else do you expect her to take you to? It's a museum, of course. I really don't understand what type, but it apparently has something to do with that newfound Mercian wealth." Coming from him, it sounded even more drastically boring.

She snapped her head up, once again glaring at the other god, "A museum. About some boring mortal issue?" She asked, putting her hands on her hips, "But I don't want to go! I bet they don't even have a decent food court..." She grumbled. Oh how she hated outings like this. They were always so boring and full of dull facts. It wasn't that Persephone didn't like learning about new things, in fact, reading was one of the goddesses favorite passtimes! But no. She hated museums, especially when she went with Athena, she always droned on and on about a bunch of useless facts.
She thought for a moment Now how could I make this trip more interesting... A spark of light lit up Persephones eyes as she looked first at her husband then towards the ceiling Heyyy, what if... "You should come with us!" The goddess gushed, clasping her hands in front of her chest, "Please, please, please, please, please!"

Hades could tell that Persephone didn't enjoy the idea of going on the trip with his niece. He didn't want to go either, so that's why he had volunteered her for the visit. He was almost convinced by her expression that she wasn't going to go. He shrugged as she restarted her complaints to him. "Well, it's not like I can do anything about it." He told her, determined to let her face it on her own.
Then his wife got that look again. How was she coming up with these ideas all of a sudden? Hades refused to bedraggled into this again. He blatantly refused, trying not to snap at her. "I'm already helping you with the garden! I won't have time to get all the stupid applications done for the new ghosts. Do you k ow how fast our population is rising all of a sudden?" Seriously, what were the gods doing these days? The mortals were flooding his realm.

Persephone's expression hardened, "Well thats your own fault isn't it? It's not my fault someone trampled my garden! And I wasn't the one that volunteered to go on this trip!" She said, glaring pointedly at him, her aura was now flickering dangerously. Almost as though she was about to loose control over it. Probably not a good sign for anything within a 10 foot radius of her. But then again, who was to know if it was all just a show?
I am not and will not go if I don't have someone come with me She thought stubbornly He'll just have to live with coming with me and helping with the garden
"So what? There are a bunch of new souls down here, all of them dead and icky and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. We have souls down here all the time Hades, it's nothing new!" She stated. So now he was trying to use work as an excuse? Well. Maybe she'd just have to cut her stay in the Underworld a little short that year if he didn't feel the need to have her there.

Hades could tell she was getting frustrated. He was getting frustrated himself. He didn't like it when Persephone raised her voice, especially with his migrant going on, and now he was pointedly blaming him for this all. Okay, so maybe she didn't make a true statement, didn't mean he had to enjoy listening to it.
"By the Styx!" The god roared angrily in a final attempt to cut her off. "If you care so much about your garden, post your own security in there! I give you the resources! You don't have to worry about population influx and the thought of expanding your realm. I have to get increased security for it all, and workers! I have to listen to new ideas and innovations to put in the new space. I have to help you with your gardening, and I have to remodel because you want your mother to come visit! Don't even get me started on Cerberus. He's gotten depression because he's being ignored! I'll go with you, okay? I'll go! I'll add another thing to my eternal list. Are you satisfied?"
His eyes flashed a bright flaming red as he finally finished his stupid rant because he had lost his stupid temper. This was ridiculous! He was busy, but when wasn't he? Going on this trip was only going to serve to stress him further. Athena herself had noticed and asked of his well being. He was just going to have to pull through and out up with it.
(-__- Fine, you win.)

(^.^)
Persephone smirked and her eyes took on a look somewhere between satisfied and a bit miffed. "Oh yay! I knew you'd come around in the end!" She said, her voice was back to it's regular tone, but it held little chips of ice. "And I don't see why your so concerned about expanding your rhealms, all the stupid mortals end up here no matter what you do or whether or not you interfere." She stated primly before turning around and walking towards the door that led to the garden.
"We start work tomorrow dear," She said, then, throwing of her shoulder nonchalantly as she walked away, "And don't forget the gardening gloves!"
Well that was fun... She thought as she continued on her way to the garden.

Hades let out a sigh as Persephone visibly brightened up. It was like she was taking the energy out of him. But no matter, he turned back to slip into his chamber, deciding that rest would be most adequate at the time. His head was hurting a great deal and it all just wasn't going his way.
The god had at least satisfied his high maintenance wife somewhat, but now he had more things to do on his list. He would have to put up with it.
