Ginger sat on the crest of Half Blood Hill. The breeze was gentle as it blew through the grass. The redhead brushed her hair from her face as she looked at her shoes then back out onto the horizon.
The usually bubbly redhead had been acting as though someone had died, it was like a black veil had covered her that no one could puncture. At least, that's what she felt like, it was easy for her to keep the facade of being happy up around the others, but when she was alone, she never bothered to put it there. She usually loved camp, but she hardly knew anyone anymore. There was also the fact that Caly had disappeared one night. And Adonis.
"I could've stopped it. Why did I leave?" She muttered under her breath, thinking about the days leading up to their disappearances.
It had been a hectic week, the last week of summer always was because there were harpies to fetch, campers to evict and cleaning to do, but this one had been bad. Ginger was a year round camper, so she usually just helped out where she was needed and didn't stress out over the end of summer. This year was a different story. Her mother had actually contacted her. Of course it wasn't to tell her anything good, only that her grandmother had died and that Ginger had to be at the funeral the following week.
She had never even met her grandmother let alone wanted to leave camp for such an unimportant matter. But her mother insisted she went, so she did. When she came back no one knew what had happened to Caly or Adonis. They had just disappeared.
She had no clue as to their whereabout or whether they were alive or dead. That was the worst part. She didn't know whether or not to keep hoping they'd come back or whether to give up. As she thought about her friends faces, she found an unecxpected wetness forming in her eyes that began to slowly tickle down her face. She quickly wiped the tears away. She was being silly. They'd come back. They had promised her they'd always be there, and Adonis and Caly never lied.
Sighing, the redhead stood up and looked over the horizon once again, "I miss you guys so much, please come back.. from wherever you are" She whispered, hoping upon hope that her words would somehow be brought to them. At that moment she would do anything to see her friends again. Anything.

It wasn't as if she meant to be spying, but Asteriesla was nervous about everything and she liked Ginger. When she found someone she liked, the young girl tended to stick to them like glue. So usually, the British girl remained close enough to keep an eye on Ginger while doing whatever she was told to do, or playing. So Ginger being on a hillwas good, the young demigod could keep an eye on the daughter of Poseidon with ease, but then she started to feel ill at ease. Ginger just didn't look like she was happy. That bothered Asteriesla.
So she had gotten up from the shadows that she had been sitting in and hurried over to Ginger, climbing up the hill and moving to stand under the shades of the tree. It was a game she liked to play. Keep to the shade. there had been a forest back at home, she had tried to keep in the shade, while her young brother did the opposite. It was a game that she liked, but it wasn't as fun without him. I wonder how he is She thought, almost sadly, but she wan'ted to cheer Ginger up, so she left that until later.
As she came closer, Asteriesla saw a wetness on Ginger's face; tears. "Are you okay, Ginger?" She asked shly, moving closer to Ginger, worried that she might get shouted at for approaching the older girl when she was obviously unhappy. As she spoke, her hand reached out to touch Ginger's shoulder, but withdrew before it reached the red haired girl, Asteriesla's face plainly showed her nervousness. It wasn't often that the young girl would be told off, but she always feared that.
Holding still for a few seconds, she took a step back, unsure of whether she should leave, but that would be rude. "If you want I can try and help you." She said nervously, her hands trying to illustrate what she was saying, but she was nervous, so the gestures were nervous, trying to be expressive, but instead switching at times to being small. Looking down at her feet, Asteriesla thought, before reaching into her pocket and withdrew a small shell that she had found. She had attempted to make it into a necklace with the symbol of Posdeidon on it, for Ginger... but she was terrible at arts. Hlding it out, nervously, she gave a small smile.
"I amde this for you. it isn't very good, and I was planning on trying to give it another go. It isn't even a sea walter shell..." She said. Asteriesla became incredibly close to only a select few whereever she went, and as Ginger had been the first person here she had met and as Ginger had been nice to her, Asteriesla had latched onto that. Taking a small breath, she closed her dark eys for a second, trying to think of something nice to say, something that might make Ginger feel better. "You're very nice and pretty." She said, knowing that she was not very good and making people feel better. It was not something that she had worked on.
((I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I just haven't seen any other demigods on. I was contemplating posting with Athena but I thought that Asteriesla would make more sense. If you don't want me to post here, I'll delete this post. if not, is this thread before or after Asteriesla has been claimed. I have also put it in the Open Threads List, just tell me if you don't want it up there.))

The redhead startled as a voice reached her ears. It was the newbie that she had introduced among the camp the other day. Interesting that she had come. No one usually came up to the crest of the hill, they didn't like the dragon that guarded the tree, so they never ventured up that far.
"Oh, ya. I'm fine, just thinking." She said, a slight smile crossing onto her face. It was a small smile, but it soon brightened as Asteriesla pulled out the necklace. She loved it, she usually hated when people made her things, but this necklace was pretty. It was simple, but elegant. The exact type of thing she loved to wear. And it was a shell with Poseidon's symbol on it. Another thing she loved to do, have everyone know she was a daughter of Poseidon. "Thanks." She smiled, reaching out and taking it from the girls palm before fastening it around her neck. "Most people usually give me rocks or food that they found or made. But I love it when people make me necklaces." She said, fingering the others ones she wore. Of course, there was the usually leather strap with 5 beads on it, her fingers strayed to the most recent one, a black bead with Hades helm of darkness on it. Her fingers lingered there for a few second before moving on to the next one. It was a simple charm made out of copper that her mother had given her. It was the one act of kindness she had known from her mother and she cherished it. Her fingers slowly moved onto another leather strap with a piece of what looked like crystal embedded with a strand of seaweed. A necklace given to her by Caly, then onto the one Asteriesla had just given her. It was the perfect addition.
"Thank you, I love it. And it goes perfectly with the others." She smiled before chuckling, "I'm pretty sure about the nice thing, but the pretty? That may be a thing of preference"
It was pretty true. Some found Ginger to be beautiful, with her frizzy red hair, slim but curvy figure and seafoam colored eyes. Others just thought she looked messy, her hair was always coming loose of its ponytail holder and her face always held smears of dirt or ash from when she fed the dragon guard. Others thought she could be pretty if she stopped wearing clothes that she had basically pieced together herself and started properly combing her hair. But mostly people went with the messy thought. But did Ginger really care? The answer was no, she really didn't care how she looked. It had always infuriated her mother that she wasn't prim and proper, so she had just stayed with that look and made it into her own. But it was nice to know someone thought she was pretty. At least, someone she knew was still present and hadn't just left. But that lead her back to why she had been mopping in the first place, and she didn't want to go back to that just yet.
(OOC~ It's okay! I just wanted to make an open thread XD)

Smiling at Ginger, the young girl turned to look at the dragon, it looked friendly, and she rather liked Dragons. "Does he have a name?" She asked, gazing at the dragon. She wondered if dragons liked to be petted. She also knew that dragons sometimes breathed fire. It was something she would rather not have, but still, the dragon did look nice. And it wasn't a hydra. Those were rather scary from what she had heard. And difficult to kill. You had to burn the stumps of heads you cut off, otherwise two more would appear.
"What about?" Asteriesla asked softly, as Ginger told her that she was just thinking. The thoughts did not seem happy and as far as Asteriesla was aware, talking about sad things made you feel better. Something to do with a problem shared was a problem halves. No one seemed to follow that idea, though. Which was sort of sad. So far, Asteriesla didn't have anything she was sad about. She missed home, but it wasn't too bad. This place was a lot more interesting and she was enjoying herself, even if she hadn't been claimed.
As Ginger accepted the necklace and said that she liked it, Asteriesla relaxed and smiled, "I'm glad that you like it. I've never been that good at making things." She said. As Ginger put the necklace one, Asteriesla looked at the others. The beads and the copper necklace. "Those are pretty." She said, looking at them. She ahd noticed that Ginger's hand had stayed longer on oe bead, a black one and Asteriesla thought she saw the Unseen One's Healm of Darkness on it. "Is that he Unseen One's healm of Darkness?" She asked, before stopping. "Sorry, I'm probably being rude." She appolgised.
As Ginger said that she thought that Asteriesla's words might just be preference, the young girl shook her head. "Your eyes and hair go together. Very nice colours, not often found. You appear unique and you don't do what most other girls do. With unnaturally straight hair and wrong colours. The unique makes you stand out and appear very pretty. Looking the same makes people boring. You see no difference and so they cannot be pretty." Asteriesla said, trying to xplain why she thought Ginger was pretty and not just in her own opinion.

The redhead smiled, "Well then I guess were both pretty." She stated, nodding towards Asteriesla black hair, "Not many people that I know have kept their black hair, they usually dye it. And you have pretty eyes, they aren't grey like Athena's but their not dark blue either, they're kind of a mix."
Ginger smiled lightly at the dragon before scratching under his chin, "His names Peleus. I don't think very many of the campers even know his name. All they register is that he's a dragon that could potentially set fire to their pants." She chuckled, remembering how Caly had given her the meat every day to bring up to him. She still did it and Peleus was always happy to see her. Either that or he was just happy that there was food.
Her eyes then clouded a bit as she took to fingering the bead again. "You have to understand that when I came here, I was completely alone. And use to being alone and being a bit of a wild child. Since my mother was never home I did whatever I wanted. I'd jump off bridges just for the fun of it or I'd stay in some random hotel or alleyway, just because I was bored. When I came to Camp Half-Blood no one really knew what to do with me. I was basically an 8 year old psychopath that hadn't been raised right." She said, a faraway look taking over her eyes as she continued, "Caly Meer, she was the old Camp Director here, was the only one that really talked to me. I hated it at first, but after awhile I got use to talk to other people and I actually start training properly. No more throwing my dagger at the harpies, no more blowing up random things when I lost control. We became really close. But, last summer I met someone else that I started to hang out with. He was a son of Hades, hence the helm of darkness, and we did almost everything together. We even went on a few small quests." She paused to take a breath, "We were both year rounders because of who our godly parent was, so we were planning out our year when I got the letter. I had to go home. It would only have been for a week if my stupid mother hadn't had to interfere." She stated, her voice turning sour and a little bit angry. "She had this whole trip planned out that ended up taking over two weeks to finish and all I could do was follow her around. When I finally did get back to camp, they were gone. Both of them. No one knew where Caly or Adonis had gone." She said, her voice turning into a quiet murmur. "I looked all over camp for them to see whether or not they were just stuck somewhere and I pleaded with the Cody to let me go on a quest to find them, but he said I was needed more here..." She trailed off, hoping that that had answer the other demigods two questions

As Ginger said that they were broth pretty, Asteriesla blushed, her checks turning pink. She'd never thought about how she looked, she just brushed her hair and went on with life. Keeping her hair black was simply. Besides, she liked it that way. It helped her play hide and seak at night time, which is what she loved. Trying to be invisible in the semidarkness, in the shadows. "I've never really thought about changing the colour, its a good colour. And it works with my eyes." She said, with a smile.
"Peleus?" She asked, moving closer to the dragon. "That's a nice name." She said, moving closer to the dragon, it looked at her and as she reached out to pat his head, it hissed and she slowly drew back her hand before trying again. The dragon leaned its head back and hissed again. Sadly, Asteriesla withdrew her hand and took a step back. "Not many animals like me. I thought it might be different with dragons." She said softly, looking regretfully back at the dragon, hoping that there would be a way to make friends with the dragon.
Looking over to Ginger, Asteriesla sensed it was a sad topic and she felt guilty for asking it. She always spoke before she thought. Hearing about how Ginger had been a wild child, without a mother practically, Asteriesla looked down. She had a mother and father, one of them was her birth parent. They had raised her, they were always around. There was no one htye paid more attention to. They shared it equally between herself and her brother. She couldn't imagine a world where she would be unloved by her parents, or what she would do without them.
But it seemed that Ginger did end up making friends at camp, which was good. But then two of her friends had disappeared. Asteriesla looked at Ginger, then took a few steps forwards and hugged Ginger tightly. "They will come back. And you ahve me. If you ever ahve any problems, I will try and help." Asteriesla said. She was pretty sure that they were alive, and also very hopeful that they would come back. People never just went in her experience. Maybe they had found something extremely important to deal with. That was always possible.
Looking up at Ginger, she gave a big smile. "People just don't go. They probably had something very important to do, and had to leave in a hurry. Maybe Atlantis arose again and they had to go find it and update them on the world. Or something very important that couldn't wait to write a note." She paused, then looked thoughtful. "Maybe I could go looking for them or on a quest for them, if you're needed here." She suggested. Ginger as Asteriesla friend, and with that, Asteriesla put high expectations on both of them. She would do just about anything to try and help Ginger out.

She smiled, "Maybe your right. They're probably off on some vacation or something like that and Mr. D just forgot to tell me." She smirked. It was very like the Camp's old Director. Even though his time at the camp was done he was still in charge of marking down attendence and where people went and where they were. Lately, he had been pretty lax with that sort of stuff. He was too busy enjoying his now free time in Olympus with Ariadne and all the other gods. Though how long he would stay there no one knew. There was a bigger posibility that he would end up back here on some millenia long punishment than staying up there for the next 100 years.
The redhead expression turned to that of surprise as Asteriesla hugged her. No one usually hugged her. Ever. But she supposed it was something normal people and friends would do. She hugged the other girl back before turning to look at Peleus, an unreadable expression on her face. Deep down Ginger knew it would be hard to adapt Peleus to Asteriesla's presence, but she was determined to at least try and get him to let her pat him. That would be a good start.
Ginger looked at the dragon and crossed her arms, "Peleus.." She said, her voice taking on a tone that only someone who owned a pet and expected them to behave could. Pointing at the ground, she muttered, "Sit." Obediently enough the dragon did. Although it shook a tremor through the ground, Ginger hardly flinched. "Now stay."
She then turned to Asteriesla, "Okay, try patting him again. He usually doesn't let many people touch him. When Mr. D tried he ended up with a half a head of hair and without a shirt." She chuckled, remembering Mr. D's startled look as the dragon belched a small amount of flames in his direction. Dionysus had wanted to turn the then baby dragon into a donkey then cook him for super, but Ginger had managed to convince him that eleus hadn't known better and that it was his way of saying goodbye. Mr. D had looked sceptical, but had accepted it. Hopefully that wouldn't happen now. All she could do, was wait and see.

Asteriesla looked thoughtful at the mention of vacations. "Demigods get to go on those?" She asked curiously. "Do we get to visit Ancient Greece and see places like the Patheneon in Athens? Its probably very educational." It was a place the young girl had always wanted to go. Visiting the Ancient Temples of Greece. It would give her an idea of what things were like in the Ancient times when the myths were set. It would probably be rather fun to take all the campers there. Maybe they had been looking at places that they could take the campers. "Maybe they are helping to plan a trip to Ancient Greece for all the campers!" She said, hopefully.
As Ginger hugged her back, Asteriesla smiled, it was generally a good sign. It meant that she wasn't shocked... or too shocked and that she was feeling slightly better. Asteriesla had been pushed away from her brother when he was in a mood and didn't want a hug. He was only four and he thought he was too old for hugs at times. Asteriesla loved him, she thought he was very sweet. But here she had Ginger as her sister and friend and Ginger seemed to not mind hugs when they were needed.
As Ginger turned to the dragon, Asteriesla released the older girl from the hug and her dark eyes fell upon the dragon. "How old is he?" She asked, wondering if dragons got bigger than this. She wondered what would happen if dragons grew as big as two or three houses. Then she doubted anyone would question the dragon. But he did look nice and friendlyndly. "Do they get much bigger than this?" She asked, looking at the dragon, who did look rather relaxed, despite aparently not liking her.
As Ginger ordered the dragon, as if it were a pet, Asteriesla looked at Ginger in amazement. How did she do that? "He really likes you, doesn't he?" She asked, looking at the older girl in admiration. She wondered if she'd ever be able to be like that. She doubted it. Animals generally didn't like her, she doubted that they would obey her. Giving a laugh at the explination of what had happened to Mr D., Asteriesla moved forwards, slowly, holding her hand out. Maybe dragons might not be like other animals. Maybe they wouldn't mind her.
The dragon regarded her and hissed again. Asteriesla paused and then took another step forwards, a really small step. The dragon lifted his head even more and opened his mouth, Asteriesla took a step back and some more, dropping her hand. Luckily she wasn't set on fire. "Well, at least I'm not on fire. Or loosing part of my hand." She said, sounding cheery. She had expected not to get on too well with the dragon anyway. "Most animals don't like me. I guess I must not have the correct body language." She said, giving a longing glance at the dragon. "He is a fine dragon."

Ginger smirked slightly, "Maybe, that would be fun, however I'm not 100% sure how we would get there. Argus probably wouldn't want to drive the whole way. He hates it when we stay awake at night, he finds us a bit annoying when we havn't slept properly..." She said, laughing as she spoke. Truth be told, she thought trips out of camp would be an excellent idea. But they didn't have the funds nor the means of transportation to get there. Not to mention how many monsters they would alert to their presence if the whole camp went somewhere.
Ginger studied the dragon as Asteriesla spoke, they had gotten him when he was about a year old and that had been when Ginger was 10, so he would now be 5 years old. "Hmm, about 5 I'd say." She stated, "How big? Well he's technically still a baby, so he should get a lot bigger. I have no clue how much bigger though. And ya, I basically raised him. Caly was too busy planning things and making sure the Hermes kids didn't light their cabin on fire again that she got me to feed him and take care of him." She patted the dragon head before turning back towards Asteriesla, maybe they'd try again another time to get Peleus to let Asteriesla pet him. The dragon was usually so sweet to everybody, well, everybody but the Hermes Cabin and Adonis. But both were understandable, the Hermes kids were always playing tricks on him or painting his back blue. And Adonis just scared him, no animal liked the smell of a Hades kid.
I wonder... She thought, looking at Asteriesla, It could always be a possibility... The promise was broken almost 20 years ago... So she could be... No. Hades would have claimed her. He claimed Adonis a couple days after he arrived.
That's what she was trying to tell her self at least. But only time could tell who Asteriesla godly parent was.

Asteriesla looked thoughtful. "A plane or a boat?" She suggested. "It only takes a few hours from England to Greece. It was about half a day to get to America from England, but I guess that isn't too long compared to driving all that way. I'm sure I'd sleep, anyway." She said, she had spent most of the time on the plane to America sleeping, or trying to get her friend the satyr to explain what was happening. Still, it probably wouldn't be that easy to organise it. And probably rather expensive. So probably not very relaxed or easy enough to go. color=black]"But I guess it is a bit of a far fetched ideas."[/color] She said, looking forelorn now.
Looking at the dragon, wondering how big he could get, Asteriesla's eys widened with an idea. "When he's bigger he could fly us to Greece. If he decided to like me. Animals don't really grow to like me." She said, gazing at the beautiful dragon. The fact that animals didn't like her was something she thought she would get used to, but it just kept coming up and annoying her. "Maybe if I rolled in roses or something. Maybe I don't smell nice to them." Asteriesla said with a laugh, trying to think on the positive side of things. That generally made life seem better for the young girl.
Shrugging it off, she looked beyond the hill. "Do demigods often get to go outside or do monsters just attack them?" She asked, staring out. She had seen many different monsters in books, but not many in real life. "Do they always like to attack demigods?" She asked, wondering if she'd be able to see her brother again soon. She did miss him, he was very small and young.
